As Senior Vice President of National Diabetes and Obesity Sales, Andrew “Andy” Ajello leads the development of national diabetes sales strategies initiatives. He oversees the diabetes sales organization, including field force execution, and strategic sales solution functions.
Mr. Ajello joined Novo Nordisk in March 2001. Prior to his current role, he led a staff of more than 600 as the Associate Vice President of Diabetes Sales for the eastern area.
In his current position, he leads the company's 2,900-person field sales organization.
The seasoned manager has been widely recognized for developing and motivating high-performing sales team. In 2008 and in 2010, respectively, Mr. Ajello was recognized in The Wall Street Journal and Investor’s Business Daily for his work managing the generational mix. As an active member of key cross-functional sales and marketing teams, Mr. Ajello played a pivotal role in company milestones including 2 major product launches.
Mr. Ajello’s nearly 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry also include various positions in pharmaceutical sales roles, training and marketing at SmithKline Beecham (now GlaxoSmithKline) for 10 years and Hertz Corporation for 4 years.
He received a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania.
