Hip-hop legend and TV personality Rev Run and his wife Justine Simmons have teamed up with Novo Nordisk for Ask.Screen.Know., a national program which challenges Americans to find out about their risk of type 2 diabetes and raises awareness of the need for early screening. Since its launch in 2009, the A.S.K. campaign has worked to reach the estimated 84 million Americans who are living with prediabetes.

Diabetes touches millions of people in this country. More than 1 in 3 Americans are at risk. More than 30 million Americans have diabetes, but nearly 1 in 4 doesn’t know it. Additionally, diabetes can lead to other health complications, so early detection is important.

If you're 45 or older, it’s time to ask. Talk to your doctor about getting screened for diabetes.
