Patient Perspectives podcast: Life with type 2 diabetes during the pandemic

October 26, 2020

At the start of the pandemic, experts quickly established that having diabetes increases the risk of severe illness from COVID-19. For many living with diabetes, the fear of contracting COVID-19 has led to being separated from family, friends, and the daily rhythms of life. And for people like Carol, who’s lived with type 2 diabetes for 15 years, the pandemic can also affect how they receive needed medical support.

Carol’s daughter, Desirea, works at Novo Nordisk as a diabetes care specialist. She also lives with diabetes and hosts our Patient Perspectives podcast. Desirea recently talked with her mom about how COVID-19 affects those living with diabetes and what Carol faces in managing her type 2 diabetes.
