Camisha is a young woman living with obesity. Believing she was born with positivity, she never realized how important this skill would be later on as she managed life with this disease and the bias and stigma associated with it.

Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2014, this initially led to depression and the inability to exercise. These factors, combined with steroid medications, resulted in significant weight gain that she now manages with the help of her doctor.

Camisha has a deep passion for theater but recalls, “I knew I was a large person with a large personality, but also large in stature. So anytime it came down to my costumes, I always felt a twinge of nervousness.”

Learn how owning her condition, coupled with a growing confidence in body positivity, allows her to live with confidence and not let obesity define her.
