That’s what motivated Novo Nordisk employees from around the globe to take on Ride to Cure Diabetes in Death Valley, CA.

Sponsored by JDRF, the world’s largest non-profit funder of type 1 diabetes (T1D) research, Ride to Cure Diabetes takes place in multiple locations, and virtually, throughout the US and has raised millions to help fund T1D research through team and individual fundraising efforts.

This ride gives cyclists of all abilities the chance to inspire others and show how to overcome some of the stigmas of living with a chronic disease.

“Absolutely,” she says. “If I’m given the opportunity to take on this challenge again, I’d love to do it. Meeting colleagues from around the world and spending time listening to and learning from people who live with the disease we’re trying to cure is unmatched. There is nothing else like it.”

For nearly two decades Team Novo Nordisk and Novo Nordisk employees like Horowitz have joined together to participate in the JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes. In 2022, Team Novo Nordisk raised $125,000 in support of the ride and the mission to drive change in diabetes.
